Privacy Policy
Ditther is built with privacy in mind. Almost everything happens locally in your browser, which means your files never touch our servers. We only collect the bare minimum needed to give you an account and run Pro features.
Your files stay on your device. When you import an image or video into Ditther, it is processed locally in your browser. Our servers never receive, store, or see your media at any point.
Images and Videos
This is the most important part. When you use Ditther:
- Images and videos are processed entirely in your browser using canvas and WebCodecs APIs.
- Your files are not uploaded to our servers at any point during editing or export.
- We cannot view, access, or read the content of your files.
- Exported files are generated on your device and downloaded directly to you.
This is not just a policy statement. It reflects how Ditther is actually built.
What We Collect
To provide accounts and Pro features, we collect a small amount of information:
- Your email address when you sign in with Google.
- Authentication details to verify your identity and keep your session active.
- Subscription status to confirm Pro access. This comes from Polar, our payment processor.
- Saved Looks and preferences so your settings sync across sessions.
- Anonymous usage analytics through Vercel. This is aggregate data about how people use the tool. It is not linked to you personally.
We do not collect, receive, or store the images or videos you edit. Ever.
Payments
Payments are handled by Polar. We never receive or store your card details or any payment credentials. Polar tells us only whether your payment was successful or not.
Cookies
We may use cookies or browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how people use Ditther in aggregate. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data to anyone.
Third Party Services
Ditther uses a few trusted services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Google for sign-in.
- Polar for payment processing.
- Supabase for account and preference storage.
- Vercel for hosting and anonymous analytics.
Your Data Rights
You can ask us to delete your account and any data associated with it at any time. Just send an email to the address below and we will take care of it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to keep your account information secure. No online service can promise absolute security, but we limit what we store in the first place, which reduces the risk considerably.
Updates to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Ditther after changes are posted means you are okay with the updated policy.
